Who are we ? :
No doubt two kitsch travellers seeking a passage between Scylla and Charybdis through
the turbulence of opposing currents. We are birds of a feather besmeared by an oil spill, a little dazed on our
iceberg, drifting on oceans of sequins.
The material we use :
The use of paper and its pulp gives the sensation of working an organic matter. When you mix in the glue, it
becomes like living flesh and you only have 24 hours to structure and model the sculptures. Sometimes in
excess, often in search of aesthetic excellence, the material bends to our will.
This feeling of urgency and the challenge inherent in work on this type of material are the basic and defining
components of our art.
Once the initial shape is determined, we sometimes hug and kiss the models. From the shapeless magma of
paper, of a moist mash, a finished form is born. Any further retouching would destroy the complete work and
reduce it to its the original basic material state.
Then you have to be patient before you can dress, decorate and embellish the sculptures which turn to
stone during the long drying period.
